Back again, day 1 again...
Back again, day 1 again...
I drank over Xmas/New year but managed to control it somewhat. Now it's all over though my tolerance level is back up to stupid levels. Drank a load last night and made myself ill again. I need to try quitting again. I'm back to the same point of the vicious circle again and am fed up.
Jump back on board James and put this relapse behind you. So now you know, as with many of us, a break in drinking doesn't reset the tolerance level. Get some sober time under your belt and continue on the path you strayed from.

Hey, at least you're still here and fighting The amount of times I got through Christmas and the New Year and then caved when the pressure was off - well I wish I had a quid for each time.
What are your plans for the weekend? Do you have to work or can you use the next couple of days to recover a little?

Hi Skye, no I don't have to work but have got a full weekend. Going out walking tomorrow and visiting family on Sunday. Hopefully it'll be busy enough to keep me from drinking and easy enough to recover!

Welcome back James. Prior to Christmas you had seriously considered trying out an AA meeting or "Stepping up" your work on sobriety in other ways. Did you give any of those things at least a try? I found that just "not drinking" was always a recipe for an eventual return to drinking for me.
