Smile weekend thread come join us , let's get through , 10th , 11th & 12th jan 2014

It's the weekend ,
That old friday feeling i've not heard from it in ages , good riddance but i know some of you all still get nagged by the little daemon .

So lets club together on our sober bicycles and get through till monday , everyone is welcome wherever they are on their sober journey. say hello, come check in , let's plan or share what a sober weekend looks and feels like .

The idea is to offer some tangental support and encouragement , give yourself something to read, a mixed bag of weekendishness, how we plan to deal with then and how we do deal with them . if you fall then get back up and come back in , if you are fallen then just say howdy so we know you're ok .

If your suffering bad and need full SR support then it's probably wise to start your own thread , cries for help tucked inside other threads can get less people seeing and responding and everyone likes to help , everyone is welcome , let's do this thing ,

Bestwishes, m

Sounds good! I plan on having a relaxing, sober weekend. Three of my all time favorite meetings that I attend on the weekend, a broadway play, a museum visit, lots of working out, and hopefully some downtime with friends on Sat. Here's to the weekend!

I'm in and I know I am going to need the support as I am already having that urge to drink this weekend. Getting through Saturday is going to be hard. Thanks for the thread.

Yay, so glad it's the weekend. This week was the first week in ages that I've done some work that wasn't working from home and I'm shattered. I'm ready for a nice, relaxing, sober weekend to recharge my batteries. I also need to buy face powder and a new umbrella. The stormy weather here has well and truly battered my old one!

Count me in as well. It feels great to plan ahead, and make the commitment ahead of time. Was tempted tonight, dodged the bullet and even walked right past a bar where my buddy bartends.

The best part? Got a $48 ham for $8!!! (leftover holiday spiral cut GOOD quality ham - normally $6/lb). The check out dude said, "save the receipt, you'll want to look at that when you get home".

So home I walked, six blocks with my ham.

Well done Paulina! Keeping walking right past those bars and post on SR whenever you're tempted.

As for the ham - that's amazing! Good things happen to us when we're sober.

Hi Mecanix my young pommie friend, I hope it's not too cold where you are. Hi weekenders *ring ring *

This weekend is my last weekend of summer holidays so I intend to enjoy it to the full. I have six coming to dinner tomorrow night, fish on the BBQ accompanied by roast vegies done in maple syrup and olive oil. I have a nice sparkling water which will be poured with ice, strawberries and lemon slices.

Sunday I'm planning a long walk and a swim.

* ring ring * The weekend has begun.

Woo hoo!!! Weasel is in the sober weekender house!

I do believe that the weekender thread turns one year old this weekend. I could be off a bit but none the less this thread has been started every weekend by either mecanix or myself. We have had some guest hosts over the year and it's been a super great motivator for me to see everyone use this as a tool to stay sober. Just one more thing to support ourselves and each other.

This thread started out of need. Out of the inability to stay sober on the weekenders and a desperate need and desire to not drink. It was not instant by any means. We know it never is. But this helped a lot.

So welcome newcomers.... Like Kevin... New star.... Paulina.... MariahG ... The under a hundred posters... Lol ... and the old timers!

Woo hoo!

Have lots planned for this weekend. Continue that jigsaw puzzle from last week. Man that's tough. I know... Not exactly riveting but certainly relaxing.

Cook cook cook. Not sure what yet.

Movies... And bum around the stores a bit.

Ken
