I failed - But I am not giving up!
I am embarrassed to say that I failed on what was suppose to be my first day of sobriety yesterday.
My withdrawals were crazy! I did cut back on the amount I drank at least.
I just could not handle the shakes and sickness.
I have quit before and can do it again.

Don't be afraid to see a doctor or alcohol counselor BeachLiving. Withdrawals get get progressively worse each time, and they can be dangerous. Even if you quit before without severe symptoms there no guarantee it will be safe the next time.
On the bright side, the first days are always the worst but they will pass. Hope you can find the strength you need to get through today. Be safe!

Hey - maybe you should talk to a doctor and tell them about your physical problems during withdrawal. they might be able to help you with it.
I hated talking to my doctor about my alcohol use. It made me feel like such a loser. But I'm glad I did.
So- hang in there - I've had a thousand day ones. I'm having one today.

If it's that bad you need to get medical attention.
Trying to cut back will only convince you that you do not have a problem and you will end up drinking more than when you tried to quit.
Good Luck!

Great idea, very glad to hear you are seeking help. Make sure you are brutally honest about your drinking. Doctors have seen and heard it all and are there to help you, so don't be afraid to let it all out.
if you haven't given up... then you've really not failed.
That said - it really might be a good idea to reach out for help - medical, AA, etc... if you're having withdrawals that badly, you may not be in a great place to do it on your own.

And if this doc is a putz, go find another one right away. Keep looking until you find one that will support you and give you the help you deserve.
If you went to the doctor with a broken leg would he say "You broke a bone before. I won't treat you this time"? Course not. He's ready to help you again without getting emotionally involved. That's his job.
