Trying again... Again :)
Trying again... Again :)
Hi all, on day 2 here again. Feeling very tense and overwhelmed by this huge pile off stuff I need to do - which has mounted up while I've been at it again. I really want to drink tonight and forget my worries and sleep but I know that's not the answer. So, instead I'm checking in here and trying to figure out where to start with the pile of crap I need to deal with.
Wishing everyone a happy and sober 2014 xx

Hi Butterfly, glad to have you on SR again. Good job getting thru day 1 and into #2.
When you say pile of crap, anything serious, criminal, or otherwise a top priority.
You know drinking doesn't really make you forget you worries, right. Drinking has created the pile of crap you now have to deal with. Why would you want more of the same?
What is the most important thing in your life right now? Is it worth losing for another night of drunkeness?
Tough questions requiring some tough decisions. You will make the right choice. I can see it in your smile.
Keep posting and let us know how you are making out tonight.

Welcome back!
Slips are annoying, but not the end of everything.
You have had periods of sober time; all you need to do now is find "permanancy mode".
Every day I meditate on my worst alcoholic escapades. It helps! I also contemplate over present positives too.

Deep breathes!

Once those kiddos are in bed and you read here with some tea for a while, you might also make a short list of all that stuff that's weighing on you that needs to be done. Do one or two small things. Sometimes, a little action in the direction of progress can make a world of difference.
Don't give up and don't pick up.
Never stop trying. I tried and failed and thought I was hopeless but didn't stop trying. The last time I tried it stuck and I've got four years now. If I can do it , so can you.
