I am on day 2 coming off of a 2 year opiate use. I am taking Neurontin for my withdrawal and it is working wonders. I am alone in this because I hid my abuse of my prescribed meds from my family. I am a stay at home mom with 3 girls. My oldest has joined the air force and is no longer in the home with us but I have a 15yr old and 3yr old that I am struggling to care for through this. I am determined to make it through this. Any advise to help me get through this is greatly appreciated.

Day 4....I can't remember last time I felt this good!!!

Day 6...having a really hard time today. Thought the worst was over with but I guess I was wrong. When will this nightmare end???

It can take a while for us to feel better, no matter what drug we used. Day 6 is great tho - I hope you'll start feeling better soon

Day 8...starting to get a little bit of relief. If I could just get myself moving I think I would feel better but when I am so weak

Hi, You are doing so well. It will get better, it is very important that you get good nutrients into you.
The residual withdrawals seem like they never end, the lethargy, the fatigue but they do and bit by bit your energy will return. Never needed to be repeated again.
Have you got a taper plan for the Neurontin?

Yes..have already started tapering. I am already down to 300mg a day. Tomorrow I will take 200mg and if I do ok with that I will drop down to 100mg then stop completely. Today is day 9 and I notice a little difference every day. I am so glad I have made this decision to get my life back.

Day 10...wow I can't believe I have made it this far. Have only had 100mg of Neurontin today and have done just fine. The only problem I am having is I am so fatigued. I can't wait until my energy comes back.

Hang in there you are doing so good. Have a look around you at all the people running around with what seems like boundless energy, that is going to be you in no time.

Day 11...I really shocked myself today. I got up and took my girls to Chuck E Cheese this morning and after that I finally made it to return some Christmas items that my little one got doubles of. Felt great the whole time I was out. I feel like I could use a nap now that I am home but I am so proud of myself for coming this far and finally having my life back. I didn't have to check and make sure I had pills in my pocket before I left and the thought of needing a pill never crossed my mind. Yeah me!!!!

Halfway through day 12...feeling a little down today. Just don't have the energy to do much of anything.
