really want 2014 to be different from the other years...

Trying to figure out how this all works. New Year's Eve I was "out", safely in bed by 9pm, & woke up wanting to keep the promise I'd made to myself the night before. To stop the madness controlling my life.

"If you tell the truth, you don't have to remember anything."
Mark Twain

I've been living lots of lies with my wine and/or vodka. Sneaking, pretending, ignoring, acting, lying to myself & those I love.

I get such a positive feeling from this site and the people on it.

Thank you! I am looking forward to reading!:

thanks

Welcome Paulina! So glad to have you here. It's great that you're getting honest with yourself about your drinking. I was also living a life of lies with my drinking. It was only when I got really honest about my drinking that I could get and stay sober.

Your daughter post

What you said about your 7 year old daughter asking you not to drink, and then you'd be pretty again. Tears! You are beautiful, but I know the ravaging effects it has on our skin, eyes, organs, body. Good for you!

I have a daughter, who I am not going to tell that I am quitting the drinking thing, until I am further along and can show her my status with some history behind it. She is in her 20's, and has been watching me for years, wanting me to be healthy and safe and "there".

Thank YOU!
