Could not log on BUT boy did I relapse

hey everyone. The last time I posted I was sober but Christmas Eve I drank myself into a coma and was in the hospital for 6 days. I also added a bottle of Ativan and a bottle of Ambien to the cocktail. I am now 7 days sober. Feels good to be back here...

Glad you came back and can log in now. What are you going to do differently this time? It's great you have 7 days now. Back on track and just need to keep it up and keep on track. Meetings? Sponsor? People you can call when you can't get on here might be helpful too. Please keep posting so we can continue to support!

since I am moving, my social worker is getting me hooked up with a facility in Vancouver Washington. I have Medicaid here in Idaho and I have to have an address in Washington before it flips over to their system. No sponsor yet. I'm moving in 2 weeks. I don't know really what to do. I can't drive right now because I'm trying to get use to the new medications. I am taking Antibuse. It was part of my discharge plan. but I have this forum. That's it.....help?

Whatever you do, please do not drink on Antabuse. I promise you the reaction will be unbearable. It's a good med in the beginning to scare someone into not drinking, but it doesn't help change behaviors and reactions to life circumstances in the long run. Are there any meetings where you live? Even if you're moving it would be nice to get some phone numbers so you have people to call and talk things through. The more I surround myself with recovery and people in recovery, the more peaceful and productive I become. It kind of just starts to become part of life. A healthy HAPPY life!

yeah, there are a lot of meetings and I did go to one before I relapsed and plan to go to that one again. I am not driving. My mom (she's 80) is driving me everywhere I need to go, but she gets very tired very easily. I will look up the meetings and see if there are phone numbers. I need a meeting really really bad

I took antibuse too

Im glad your ok. Antibuse works gives you bad breath and makes you a little tired but over all I liked it. I stopped taking it because of the cost and I relapsed for three years. I was only two months sober then. Im 1 year sober now no antibuse no AA. Just my will. You can do it too, hang in there. Also Im a shot girl and a bartender, So if I can do it so can you.

Well done in 7 days!

I hope you can remain sober, I can't help feel for your mom. At 80 all this must be stressing the x out of her ;-(

But if you are sober you can make things right and help her when she needs you at her times of need!

Be well!!

Hi. Hopefully you can hang in there for the long term. I never knew anyone stay sober on one meeting, more like one a day. I wanted what other people had so I jumped in and followed suggestions like If I don't drink I don't have to get sober AGAIN.

BE WELL

SO GLAD you're ok.
Is there any treatment facility in your new town you could go to?
I wouldn't have made it these 51 days without 4 weeks of outpatient rehab. It changed my life...
xoxo
