Day 3, doing pretty well
Today is day 3 for me and I'm doing pretty well. Woke up with a great deal of anxiety which went away as soon as I got out of bed. Felt pretty normal, bit more groggy than I should, but ok, it's only day 3.
During the day I got some intense cravings. I struggled with them until I asked myself the question: "What if I don't do it?". I decided to not give in and see what would happen.
Well, the cravings went away pretty quickly and I ended up being happy about being sober. And now I feel very relieved. At this time in the evening I would have been wasted, now I'm just tired and looking forward to a good night's sleep.
The great thing is that I was finally able to function normally again. The normal, everyday routine. Instead of stumbling around hung over, letting my house get dirty and cluttered, skipping showers, trying to get myself decent and stable enough to go to the store for another bottle or 2.
Instead I felt like a normal person. And it's amazing to be normal! You don't have to be spectacular. You can if you go for it. But just getting to the point of being normal is amazing.
So, time to log off, get some relaxation and a wonderful, sober night's sleep.

Just woke up after a bit of a restless night, but I slept much better than the nights before. It's nice and sunny today and I'm happy I can enjoy it. No hangover. Feeling better. Looking forward to the rest of the day.
It's interesting how when you get sober you can actually plan a constructive day! This is so much better.
