A common denominator

I have noticed that someone with a significant amount of sobriety usually says that they remember how it feels to be scraping bottom. I seem to forget too easily.

In the beginning, we do forget easily. When we stay stopped, we talk with those in early recovery and our memory returns.

I don't want to go back to that darkness! I prefer to stay stopped today.

Peace

I once heard it said that the "ism" in alcoholism stands for "incredibly short memory". I suffer from the same thing...unfortunately.

I kept a journal. I go back and read what it was like lest I ever forget.
