Not sure what to say...

Hate the feeling I'm having right now. New to this sight, not new to trying to recover. I recently had 1 month sober, and fell off during the holidays. Want to get my life back. Need your support.

Just jump back on the wagon....Give it a few days and you'll feel great again....You know being sober makes sense.

Just start again. You can be solidly sober by the New Year
and like stevie says, it makes sense and feels pretty darn good.

Magnum1, hang in there! This is my first attempt at sobriety. Have been an alcoholic for 21 years (I'm 41). I'm scared and trying to be strong! We are all in this together. Good luck and if you get the urge to drink jump on this site and let everyone know. So far the support I've received is amazing.

Magnum - I recently relapsed after 3 weeks sober so in a similar boat. Now i have 2 weeks under my belt and no desire to start over again. Holidays are tough enough let alone the addiction problem. Stay strong. Get a plan in place, have sober buddies to help you through and take it 24 hrs at a time. Move on and don't look back. Best wishes.

Magnum,
They're right, you know what you must do and no sober time is wasted. Relapse isn't required but like all sh@t it happens. Don't beat yourself up that only makes you feel worse. It's good that your reaching out and the fact that you came back so soon definitely shows everyone you gained something from your last stretch of sobriety. Life is sooo much better sober we all know that. Tame the beast, say NO NEVER AGAIN. Just from my own experience I don't think I'm powerless over alcohol. I choose if I put it in my body but before that I choose to purchase a bottle by choosing to go into the store by choosing to drive to the store by choosing to allow the cravings to take over by choosing to listen to the demon by choosing not to say NO NEVER AGAIN when it creeps into my brain. It's only after I've released that will and I take the first drink I'm powerless but man at that point I've consented about 6 times.
Best of luck and just say NO

The buzz is ephemeral...try thinking past the buzz - think about the bad things in your relationship with alcohol - thats what you risk every time for that short lived buzz.

There's a lot of joy in a sober life - it makes the alcoholic buzz look like chicken feed.

The more years you drink the harder that buzz is to find...there's no more lonely place than an alcoholic who can't get buzzed anymore.

Do something about this now before you find yourself 20 years older and not getting buzzed Magnum.

Never stop trying Magnum. There's no happiness or fun left in it for you. Give yourself chance to get some sober days behind you - you can get your life back.
