Wasted Time

After staying up too damn late and drinking too much vodka last night, I have wasted the day. I go from a first drink in the evening as some sort of reward ore escape and I end up punishing myself by over consumption. It's pretty damn stupid to do this.

I poured out the rest this morning but I dragged ass all day.

Vodka is my demon.

Great thread title. You can achieve sobriety and live a happy life.

You just have to want to get sober, make a plan stick to it.

I don't even want to think about how much time was wasted due to hangovers at weekends, and even just sitting doing nothing productive but simply lifting a glass to my mouth.

BUT . . . you can turn things around, life doesn't have to be like that!!

I would think, Fdm, for as long as you've struggled to stay quit, you would have realized that as alcoholics we can't have that first drink.

That we keep trying is the insanity of the disease.

Please do what it takes to recover. That is, if that's what you want. I know for me, I wanted to drink without the consequences of my drinking. I finally got it through my thick skull, that wasn't part of the deal. The only out for me was to quit. Period.

Agreed, it's wasted time. I wasted a lot of time too. But, you can stop doing that today. You don't have to feel like this again.

Quitting is hard, but recovery is attainable. Keep sobriety your goal and keep striving for it.

Fdm

I think Carl said it all really - it's neither a reward or escape by now, is it?
