Hi

Hi everybody. Im Cassie or C. I am brand new to this forum and sobriety as well. My story is long and complicated but I'll share what I feel is important. I started with smoking weed at a young age and eventually started doing any party drug that was availible. After a DUI, a friends death and the ending of a relationship I became very depressed and that combined with some (likely) drug induced mental illness kind of pushed me off the edge. I started doing pills and then moved to heroin. I was on heroin for about 2 and a half years but it felt like 10. That drug ruined my life, my relationships, and my mind. I felt like I couldn't live without it until 4 months ago when I moved out of the state I was living to a very nice and tropical city in Florida. I love the environment here and I have been able to stay clean from the drugs, but I can't seem to resist the urge to drink daily. My goal is to get completely sober and I think the support on this forum will help. One of the things I struggle with is meeting new people that don't drink or use drugs. It might be a miracle if I get sober, but I know I need to. I hope to meet some people that understand.

You can... As you read through the forums you'll hear of many people with numerous months and years of clean living. They share their stories, methods and ways of how they did it.. what works / doesn't work etc...

Thank you. I enjoy reading here very much. It is important to get some clean time under my belt, I have a hard time accepting the fact that I have a problem with alcohol. This is the hardest thing ever but I am motivated and these forums are filled with inspiration!

Hey Cassie, welcome to the Forum!

If your looking for people with experience of addiction, your in the right place, if addiciton was an olympic sport, I'd say a few of us would have a chance at a clean sweep of medals!!

You'll find loads of support here, it's a great place!!

Ha yeah if addiction was the Olympics then I just about participated in every game there was! But the only thing I have to show for it is loss. I'm so ready to change. Still learning about all this site has to offer. It's a lot!
