My AV is cunning...
My AV is cunning...
So I was a tad nervous coming into my first sober holiday season. The parties I thought were sure to be a struggle.
Oddly enough, the AV did not show up in expected places...parties all fine and relaxed!
However, that pesky AV has popped up at other odd times. For example...I was do busy Christmas Eve day with food preparations, that when I was done with all the running around, I was hit with a sudden longing for that glass if wine. I had worked do hard, the Christmas music was on and I couldn't help wishing that I was able to sit down with my feet up looking at the tree while I sipped my wine.
Thankfully I was able to fast forward to the likely scenario later in the evening had I indulged myself...a scenario like last year when my husband had to wake me up Christmas Eve to get the toys ready for my daughter after I had passed out.
The craving passed and I had a nice night followed by a great Christmas Day. However, AV was back today for no apparent reason. Just glad I was able to fend it off. New Year up next...must always keep my sobriety dear to me...just never know when that AV will show up!

Holidays are full of traditions. I drank for many many years so it would be odd if I didn't have the cravings this time of year. The AV is full of the Christmas spirit that's for sure. Surf through the triggers and keep going forward!
