Surprise - Wine to my door

Today I was quite surprised to find a delivery man at my door delivering a gift box containing a couple of decent Rieslings. Either my brother forgot I quit drinking or his wife placed the gift order this year. I had a good chuckle about it before tucking them away in the downstairs fridge, I'm sure I can find someone to enjoy them on my behalf.

Yeah, I thought about it for a minute or so, mainly because it snuck up on me and hit me from the blind side. But only just for that minute. Yesterday makes a half-year of sober on the books for me, and it seems to be going okay so far .. no reason to screw up a good thing.

Great job on staying strong!!

I always say alcohol can inevitably appear out of nowhere, this was one of those times, and we need to be prepared!!

Hi, it does take you by surprise sometimes. Well done on resisting it.
I found some cider left in my fridge after my nieces had visited - boy that was hard. I took it outside to my daughter's car, and for some reason that made a big difference. It's not like it was less accessible there, but somehow it became out of bounds.

I received a half-case of really nice wine from an appreciative client last week. I transformed it into an extra Christmas gift to my fiancee. She was also very appreciative. I turned lemons into....grapes into.... oh well, you get the point.

Well done! That's a situation that requires a solid sobriety.

Well done. Just make sure they are not too close to get tempted. Can you not give them away now to your neighbours or someone. Anyway well done again and all the best

Great work. Impressive. It does sneak up on us in unexpected ways, out of the blue. Man, if it were me, I'd have to ditch the stuff asap-march it over to a neighbor's house or pour it out. We're all different, though.
