Night Three
So tonight is my night three of sobriety. All withdrawal symptoms are gone except likely my insomnia. I need to get to January 2nd.
Holidays are always a reason to get trashed even more while drinking. So I need to make sure I'm not at any new year's parties or staying late at Christmas functions when there is alcohol.
Also, I posted that my family are all alcoholics a few days ago. I have decided I'm still going to go, but only during the morning hours. I will be leaving as soon as the alcohol gets brought out.

Congratulations on 3 days. I'm on my 49th hour alcohol free. My body is feeling better, still having hot flashes, my mind is feeling clearer, which is a bit scary and exciting at the same time. Hang in there. I tried to go to bed a few hours ago but I just haven't been able to. This
too shall pass.

yeah i had hot flashes last night. Those are always gone for me after the second night. Those are really annoying.
thanks guys. I'm hanging in there. I am fine with symptoms, just worried about cravings and such.

Good job, Justinjust. The insomnia is a b!@$, I can attest to that, but like I was told, lack of sleep won't kill you, alcohol will. All of our insomnia is different, but for me, as soon as I stopped fearing it, I started making progress. Keep up the good work.

Great job getting through the first few days. Those are tough. The insomnia goes away after a few weeks, sometimes sooner. I find that's one of the best parts about being sober....good, fulfilling sleep with limited dreams. Whoo hoo!
