Made it to day 7

Not a problem actually. By last Thursday my brain was back to normal, for me it was always a weekend thing that would carry over to Monday or worse. I talked to my therapist and he thinks it's other issues pushing me to self medicate since many times I can drink socially. At any rate I'm going until after the holidays dry, and maybe much farther.

I will say this Monday is much much better than last Monday! Waking up this morning was quite a nice experience, like the opening theme of American Dad. (Tv show like family guy, I haven't watched in awhile but funny theme song).

I'm an alcoholic that drinks simply because I am addicted to the perfect alcohol induced high. In fact, having "just one" or "a couple" sucks worse than none at all for me. I usually throw back those first few to get a decent buzz and then "search" for that perfect high.

So while our motivations for drinking may differ, I just wanted to comment because we have something in common. I am also on day 7 tomorrow. Woo-hoo, one week

Hey Gardennerd, a long period of being dry will give you some perspective on why you drink.

I say this is lucky 7 for both of you! Well done. Why not make it a permanent lucky strike?
