Well he needs a support system now.
A sponsor will help.

Remember your support and remember to show gratitude in all the small accomplishments he makes.

That's what I'm hoping for TMZ. It was the guys from his sober house and from the Aa rooms that he reached out to for going to detox. Praying he is back to going to meetings and getting a sponsor this time around. He had 17 months clean until this relapse.

It is my prayer that your son learned an important lesson with this relapse. 17 months is a long period of time. I'm thinking active use must have felt awful to him...hence the fairly quick committal to detox and reaching back out to solid friends. I will continue to keep you both in my prayers.

ughh, I hate to hear he relapse but at least he took action to get help and detox. 17 months was a long time. Did he say what triggered the relapse if anything??

Hugs,
Lily

Not going to meetings, thinking it was okay to drink cause that was not his doc and boredom. No he has been living on his own for 8 months but close to the sober house.

Son is out of detox - Update

They say you have to want recovery. I guess for my son he did not want it enough and chose to go back to using. These back to back relapses have left me feeling broken and sad. Me, the ever hopeful one, has lost even that, a glimmer of hope. Heroin is the devil. Asking for your prayers right now.

Prayers for you and your son......

There is always hope. Time to back off and let God work.....it sometimes is very slow and painful!

I pray he finds the strength to stay sober. I pray for you as well. I agree about the heartbreak. It is so hard to watch a loved one struggle and feel so helpless. Big Hugs.
