Other benefits of sobriety
WOW....my clothes fit again!!!!! I relapsed 3 years ago, when moving out of the USA to Costa Rica...and accountable to no one....Now, I am on day 63 and in two short months the clothes that I brought down with me fit again
I remember when we arrived here (and at that time had 4 years of sobriety in that go-round), and a friend commented to me that I "looked 10 years younger"..... I have put off visits to the states, travelling, etc. for 3 years now....since "I had nothing to wear" LOL....Now, whether it is the calories in the alcohol, the lack of motivation brought about by alcohol/blackouts/hangovers,etc....who cares?!?! Today I can think straight, be responsible, productive, (relatively) active (I am retired, after all)..lol.....and wear my clothes!
