OK, if I don't do this right now I might never remember. This is how I feel right now: exhausted, bloated, ashamed, rotten inside, guilty, sad, ugly, privledged, stupid, awful. This is a message to my future self. Never forget.

Hi! Glad you are taking a stand for yourself.

And yes do remember how you feel if you ever have the idea that you can have one and be fine. I have done 999 times at least.

Take care

It is good to remember how you feel now, but don't forget you can change that and be the person you want to be.

This can be your moment of clarity. The first sober day of many more to come.

Keeping those memories in my head, and reading here of those who suffer from them, has kept me sober for almost three years.
But don't be fooled, memories can fade once we start to feel better. There are different programs that people here use with success. Have you thought of that?
I feel for you. I have been there so many, many times before.

Ick! Those memories of how awful it feels are not fun. Unfortunately we often forget how bad things were. I agree with others above. Working a program helps people understand how bad it was but also how good it really can be without that icky substance that has caused so much pain. Highly recommend trying one out.

Time to keep moving forward ForestRunner!! . . . it's good to never to forget, but put a few days of sobriety together and you'll feel a whole lot better!!

I sure remember all those feelings. I'm coming up on 60-days soon, still pretty young in my sobriety, but things really started clicking a couple weeks ago. It does get better, hang in there!

You don't have to continue to feel this way….better, sober, days are ahead.
