They are keeping him !!!
They called and said they were admitting him. 
He tried to tell them he did everything because he was drunk. 
They actually called me and asked my opinion!!!
I am jumping up and down even if it is for maybe just a day. At least now he knows they will keep him if he has this kind of behavior again. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="eek.gif" />
I am laughing so hard. Not in my wildess dreams did I ever think in my life that I would be so excited that my son was being committed to a mental institution. What ever has become of me.

I think you are happy because he is getting help, you are out of harms way and the pressure is off of you.

You will get the rest and peace you deserve, and he will get the treatment he needs so badly.
I do think God locked those keys in the other office. He wasn't finished and needed to stall you.

Things that thrill an addicts mom:
1. They get out of jail.
2. They get admitted to a mental facility.
3. They move out.
4. They go to a rehab for addiction to some
horrible drug.
5. They go to N.A. meetings.
6. They don't steal our medications,including
my hormones when he didn't know what they
were.
7. He didn't grow breasts, even though I told
him he would and he checked for a week.
I am sure you can add a few here. These are things June Cleaver never even dreamed of.

I am fine, concentrating on me and making a few plans with some boundaries. I think not going to "save" him was the best thing I have done in a long time.

Debbie, not saving him was great!!! I'm glad you're feeling better. What a ride! I was going to post a picture of a shed for the survival kit. You need it to hide the lawn mower in next time.
Ann, now that you mention it, the first thing I did is check my hormones and my stomach pills and thought thank God he didn't take them. I NEED THEM. That reminds me that in all the excitement, I forgot to take them this morning.
I was just thinking how the man that called me said, "well he said that he was drunk when he did all of this" My defense was saying that he wasn't drunk. ( It does pay to check the trash sometimes) After I hung up, I thought. "Is it ok for a drunk to attempt suicide?"
I get a little confused when dealing with the police or the doctors.

Yes he did!!! And I did tell him he would grow breasts...and he did check for a week He thought they were tylanol 3's. I am allergic to codeine, so NEVER take tylanol 3's 
He never took my pills again!!!!

I am going to sleep soon, I have an interview tomorrow, for something maybe more permanent. Wonder if I will have access to internet on my computer...hmmm I better check. I need to sneak in here occasionally through the day.

...and I forgot my pills this morn, too!! I work in a Medical office....amybe there are some samples around!!!

Also glad to hear that he was admitted. It is true that it is difficult to get someone committed if they are intoxicated, it is not considered a threat to oneself or others. .but they will probably re-evaluate him and refer him for further treatment. It is crazy but people are free to kill themselves with alcohol or drugs in this society. .part of our civil liberties I guess.
I think that was excellent advice from I think Anns for you to say you do not want him back in your home. .that will force them to find placement/treatment. I wish I would have done that once or twice. .
