Got through part 1 of a usually drinking filled day.

Every year around this time my husband's company treats the wives to a spa day followed by the company xmas party at night. Mimosas were flowing at the spa, but I happily had tea. My sponsor told me to approach it as a way to be useful to the new wives and I did just that. It felt great to talk to them, tell them about the area, etc.

The party is at 6 tonight so I am going to take a nap and then get ready. I am a TAD nervous because there is an open bar and bottles of wine at the tables, but I have my sponsor on speed dial and I am going to just replay my last drunk if I get the desire.

It will be 1 month on Tuesday and I will make it!

I have my xmas work night out tonight too . . . and know exactly how you feel!! I also had a nap this afternoon to forget about it for a while!

But you know what, we've both been sober for weeks, all those cravings and days of pushing through, 5/6hrs will fly by . . . let's do this!!

Best to you. You can do it! Replaying your last drunk is what I do, and it works great. Think of the misery, regret and anxiety the next day.

I know you can do it anchorbird - it's sensible to have strategies just in case tho, and an escape plan

No escape plan other then just telling my husband we have to leave if it gets to be too much for me. He is senior in the company, will be schmoozing with the other uppers so I need to drive home. Im feeling pretty good right now though!
