Disgusted with myself!

Cannot believe after a week sober, counselling and going to my first aa meeting I just hit the bottle at the weekend. For anyone thinking of having just one, don't bother it's just not worth it. I'm disgusted with myself and so is my beautiful husband

beating your head on the wall has very limited utility. You're better off analyzing the solution you used last time to see if you need to make changes to the solution this time.

Having a lot of "day 1" expertise is a dubious honor, but I own it.

You can do this!

Kate try not to be too hard an yourself, I needed to accept I'm an alcoholic and cannot drink in safety. This happening is alcoholism in action.

HANG ON AND BE WELL

No point in beating yourself up over it, chin up and move forward again, worth though trying to figure out what happened during the leadup to the weekend and working out a plan to prevent it this weekend!

Great job on 1 week sober!!

all the better reason for us at this point
to not drink anymore
I have struggled with sobriety more than once
a conscious decision must be made

Like they say, pick yourself up and start over again. After they sober up just about everyone likes to think they are in control again, well if you couldn't control it before you won't be able to drink in moderation now. Remember next weekend. Good luck, keep trying.

Use it as a lesson of how you feel , and remember that next time you have the urge to pick up the bottle.

Yes, just get back on the horse. Beating myself up usually sent me back to the bottle. Good luck xx

I was disgusted with myself with the happenings of my last drink. Instead of using that disgust to beat yourself down. Use it as a reference point and reminder to hold you to some accountability, and get back in the game!

Don't beat yourself up you're doing far more than most in terms of taking active steps in your recovery.

A very simple formula was recommended to me and it worked. Go to a meeting every day and do not drink in between meetings.

They don't say cunning baffling and powerful for nothing

Forgive yourself, learn from it, and move forward again.

I'd like to say I usually have a "Mork And Mindy" kinda day. I go around, hoping I've done good. Usually screwing up. Then, at the end of the day, I consult with The Boss to discuss what I've learned. And how I can do better. Hang in there!
