Back and very grateful
Hi-
Lots of new folk on here since I logged about a year or so ago!
In 2011 I decided to change my life and give up alcohol. I would be lying if I didn't say it's been rough. Lots of struggles and attempts to keep a lot of priorities in my life. What I've found out the hard way is that there can only be one #1 priority for me if I'm going to be successful. That priority is sobriety at any cost. It's taken me YEARS to come to this realization despite everyone else's advice and words of wisdom. Sometimes things need to get REALLY bad before I finally surrender and start listening.
I'm now at 72 days, the longest I've ever had. It's still a work in progress although I am finally starting to have clarity and become more focused on what I need to do each and every day.
Just wanted to say hello and I know we're in this together. I couldn't do it on my own although I spent many years trying for sure.
Here's to more time living a peaceful and hopeful sober life!

Thanks for all of the friendly welcomes! And you're all absolutely right. We can't do it alone. It's so nice to be able to come onto a forum where we don't know anyone in person but yet we all have similar struggles and a common bond.
I will join the Sept thread if there is one!
