I believe the Big Book "Alcoholics Anonymous" is the most read book in the world. I question that but it's certainly got millions sober. Available at meetings, central offices and on line.

BE WELL

I highly recommend the book Under the Influence: a Guide to the Myths and Realities of Alcoholism by Katherine Ketcham. This book has been hugely helpful for me on my sober journey..

I recommend the book Living Sober. The following is a quote from an Amazon review which says it better than me: "Incredible little book that I discovered when I first got sober. Practical suggestion for daily living without a drink. This book was exactly what I needed when I began my life transformation. Highly recommended for anyone that desires to live a day at atime without a drink."

Practical suggestions help. I have read it and it does help.

Good luck.

"Sober for Good" examine the many ways people get and stay sober across multiple methods. It is great because it talks about what is actually used and works rather than promoting one single approach.

Totally agree, Ruby. As much as I love the big book and the 12 and 12, Living Sober has been my practical guide to learning how to live life without alcohol. It makes things so simple and has advice for almost every situation. I love that book so much.

Here are a couple that I think are really helpful:

"12 Stupid Things That Mess Up Recovery" and "12 Smart Things To Do When the Booze and Drugs Are Gone," both by Dr. Allen Berger.

Oh, and one more book that I just love. It is not recovery-focused, exactly, but contains concise, thought-provoking, and extremely helpful "spiritual principles" for living. It's short, a quick read, which is another reason I like the book. It is called, "The Laws Of Spirit," by Dan Millman.

I second JazzFish. I'm reading 'Sober for Good' and it helps a lot.

I found daily reflection from AA a good thing when I gave up. It gave thoughts daily.
