getting started
Hi all
I am having difficulty with alcohol. First off I am bipolar and have finaaly found non addictive meds that work. I used focaine for about 4 years and have been clean of that for over 3 years. I have been drinking since I wss 15 (binge) and I can't seem to kick that and I truly want to be alcohol free

Not to mention I have several other health issues that can be exacerbated by the alcohol. Doc put me on klonopin and I withdrew from that too. My liver profile was awful nearly a year ago trying to quit smoking cold turkey too. Was doing well in moderation then as always it got out of hand. I have to start all over again. I don't understand this I was always able to quit and be moderate its like a freight train out of control.

Thank you . . .so many things are habitual . Whenever I go to the Dr I want to come home and drink. It is perhaps the worst possible thing. That's what happened to me. For the past few weeks I've been drinking intermittanly stop then have one then stop. I checked on local programs no aa groups close by. Local programs too expensive or I don't qualify, or they don't accept my insurance. Drinking for pain relief feel so bad. Had to cancel hotel reservations this am cause not only was I sick from the flu I was really afraid I might start shaking on thanksgiving again never had this happen . . .

I moved away for a year and basically detoxed. I returned home when I was confident I wouldn't use again. The cravings took awhile to lose. Moving is not an option as alcohol is a different animal for me.
