Face to Face Holiday support for those new (and not so new) to recovery

The organization Alcoholics Anonymous provides a welcoming place for those who need some extra support over the holidays. These are gatherings of people who are in recovery who eat, socialize and have meetings. The meetings are called ‘Alcathons’, and typically they go around the clock for the thanksgiving holiday (and often for a part of the day before and day after). You can walk in at 2 AM and there will be a few folks gathered for fellowship and support (and there will likely be a bit of food available also). Call your local AA office to find out when and where. Here is a link to find your local AA phone number. http://www.aa.org/lang/en/central_offices.cfm?origpage=373
Feel free to ask questions about these ‘Alcathon’ gatherings here as well.

That's awesome! I would love to participate in something like that... unfortunately I have nothing walking distance and am on a 30 day license suspension at the moment... I guess I may be spending more time on SR
