Days 2, 3, 4, & 5..
..are behind me! What I have learned from the SR that helps me every day:
(1) How to manage cravings. Put timer on them and see how long each one lasts. For me, each one subsides in less than 5 minutes. And as I make it past each one, I know I am closer to my goal: Another night wine free.
(2) Identifying my AV. It works! I immediately know when my AV is talking and I talk back. Upon examination, my AV is a character without morals. I am shocked I even listened to it and at times was powerless against it. All this reflection really, really helps me.
(3) The support and sharing on this site is priceless. Putting my story out on SR makes me feel like I put a stake in the ground. I am accountable. I am part of a larger community, and were are connected in this struggle. I draw strength every day from the SR community to stay sober.
Here's to day 6!
