On looking at my past I realized that every physical scar or injury I have is related to drinking. Considering I've always been a fairly outdoors type person - mountainbiking, skateboarding, hiking etc. - that is quite a sobering thought (pardon the pun). I just lost my latest job due to a recurring knee injury I did when I was drunk a few years ago. It annoys me because it was such a pointless accident that would never have happened sober. I'm really mad at myself for some of the stupid things I've done.

I've been a danger to myself and other people. I wish I could've been able to step out of my body and see what a ***** I was being!

Beating yourself up over the past is not going to help you. All you can do is look back and say WOW was that not my best moment(s) in life. You never fail unless you learn from your mistakes and move on.

I see the scars on my face as a reminder of why not to drink anymore

Many times at meetings people say they didn't always get into problems when they drank but when they had problems almost always alcohol had been a factor.

BE WELL
