Hello Folks - Back Again..

I'm not even sure if I should be posting in the newcomers forum anymore; how many times do I need to try and fail before I'm no longer a newcomer?!

Anyway, the inevitable happened - I cut down for a while but I'm back to square one.

How longs a piece of string James? Or should I say elastic, as we seem to keep bouncing back until we get it right. You are in the best place to give it the best chance of getting it right this time! X

I'm glad you are back too That cutting back thing didn't work for me. It takes awhile to figure out what works and what doesn't. Not drinking works best for me.

Welcome James.

You helped me today by reminding me again that cutting back NEVER works for very long.

No matter how many days we stay sober we are all just one drunk away from Day 1.

We are all newcomers.

Thanks for the replies/support everyone. I enjoyed it for a while there; a few drinks, didnt make an ass of myself, didnt cause any strife, didnt overspend...and then it all went to hell! I'll spare you all the gory details - we all have the stories. I'm not gonna keep kicking myself, just get on with it from day 1 again.

Welcome back James! We all stumble in certain ways, but hope remains as long as we're willing to pick ourselves up and try again.

Good on you James for simply 'seeing' that 'It's Time'. Day 8 for me, for about the sixth time this year. It can be done. We CAN do it!

don't give up.
you may fail 1000 times, but if you succeed on 1001 that will be the big win for you.

like others said, just keep on trying, learning and always improving.

hang in there, friend.

Hi James! It happened to me many times. I finally got it right though, and you will too. Sometimes we just need further convincing.

I'm always going to be a Newcomer.
