What does your avatar mean to you?
I've had a few comments and inquiries regarding my avatar recently, so I thought I'd shed some light...
My avatar is "Mister", my half Boston / half neghborhood tramp (pit, we think). Mister was a part of my "bottom". One night in October 2010 he got hit by a car, and I was too drunk to take him to the 24 hour vet clinic. All I could do was hold him. Fortunately, I was able to get ahold of my wife, who rushed home and got us to the vet. Sadly, we were held up for a few minutes after I realized that we might be awhile, so let me run back inside and grab the rest of my beer for my nerves, for my buzz, and for the road.
The vet was unsure of Misters condition, putting him down was mentioned, and said that they could keep him overnite for observation, or we could take him home. We took him home. My wife and I agreed that if Mister were to die, he would die next to family who love him, not in a cage at a vet clinic.
I took off work the next day and stayed by Misters side the whole remaining weekend. Lifting him on and off the couch, giving him his meds, etc. Amazingly, he slowly recovered, and got back to his old self. Took about a month. Amazing, after being dragged under a car for about 30 feet.
That night with Mister was one of the many wooden planks that make up the floor of my "bottom". I stopped drinking in November 2010, found SR, got to AA, got a sponsor, and continue working the steps. Recovering. Mister has fully recovered. I'll always be recovering. He's a great dog.
Anyhow...that's my Avatar...now, if you will, tell us about yours. Thx!

That's a picture of Snapper, our 12 lb rat terrier. We got him after our yorky died 11 years ago. He's had one bout of cancer but has been in remission for a few years now. Great dog. Loves to play and cuddle. Is very sensitive, like his owner.
mine is my kitty, stella. she's named after what was my favourite beer. she's mean, she talks constantly and i adore her.
weirdly, she's been MUCH more cuddly with me since i got sober. who says animals can't read emotions?

Thanks Zube for OP
Mine change often....this one is because I was posting in the daily smiley thread...
and I felt happy....and have been feeling happy for a few weeks now....
an opposite of the depression I've been going through.
Also smiling for quitting smoking for 40 days.

Love the thread.
Mine means that I am a gym rat and exercising freak - my weekly schedule usually holds 4 weight lifting workouts, 4-5 boxing classes, cycling and stretching)
And it says "I've learned that life is tough but I am tougher". So true!
