The pain has started.

The pink cloud has gone. I'm climbing the walls, on edge and anxious. I hate feeling like this. I was going to find a meeting but now that's just too scary and all I am doingbis sitting here with fear in the pit of my stomach.

You can get through this.

Try to breathe and relax, meditate if you can.

Do you have someone you can call?

you can do this! if you can possibly take a deep breath and get to aa, now is a great time for a meeting. if that's just too much, maybe pick one thing in your home to do and do it? wash some dishes, scrub something, get some physical energy out. pound out some pushups or crunches. physical exertion really helps.

If meetings help you, go find one. People there know exactly what you are going through and can help. This phase is not pleasant but it is also not permanent. You can and will get through if you want to.

Hang in there RJY - the best way to dispel that fear is to do something - whether it's calling someone, going to a meeting, doing something menial at home, meditate, a little exercise, or posting here....

The fear will overwhelm you if you let it.
Don't just sit there, ok?

RJ, you can get through this. I found the worst thing that i could do when i felt anxious was to sit with my thoughts. Doing something like having a walk or keeping myself busy really helped to ease my anxiety. It will pass. Stay strong.

Many here, I among them, warned you that this would likely happen and for you to prepare for it. And so it has. So step up. Step up to the promise you made to yourself to not drink.

Stay Strong RJY9!

Remember ALL the reasons you no longer want to drink or drug. Then, think back on how GREAT you feel when you do not engage in drinking or drugging.

For example, On Wednesday 11/06/2013, YOU POSTED:

“… I eventually got home and passed out freezing cold and wet, and when she came home in the evening she told me that's the last time, its either stop now and create a new beginning or she's leaving for good and I can go off the rails as much as I like. BANG!!! Reality smacked me in the face and I have now got no choice and I don't want a choice, the choice is simple, drink or family, I choose family life its a no brainer. I closed that old book, and the night in the field was the last page of that book and I don't wanna read it again. My new Book started yesterday and its going to be a best seller unlike the other one that was full of shame and regret and constant worry and anxiety. I cannot drink anymore and I guess I needed to go that place to get to here. I'm looking up some AA meetings and I fully intend on taking the action to get sober, forever. Expect to see me on here all the time from this day forward. Peace.”

And yesterday, November 15, 2013, YOU POSTED:

Day 11! Feeling fresh! Been out for a walk in the early morning freezing cold lol and seen a beautiful Bird of Prey that was a rare thing were I live. I have been making some great music and polished off a 2 litre bottle of Pepsi :/ but what the hell! Better than 2 litre bottle of Cider right! Off to the shops then to select a few films for tonight with the fam. Big smiles and lots of laughs on the cards this weekend and alcohol can shut its face! Stop calling me u idiot!! I aint coming!! ))”

You can and you will get through this!!!

Well done RJY9 for finding that strength and motivation to keep on with your new book, remember, it's a best seller.

I have said this multiple times. For me will power was never enough. I needed the help of others. It is your choice to act on advice given or to do it on your own which in the past has failed.

When I was willing to do anything to get sober things started to get better
