1 Year today :)
365 days alcohol free!! 3.5 months cigarette free!! The woman I was a year ago is still here but she is free of these mental obsessions....
The gift of sobriety is so wonderful. I have clarity, confidence, dignity. Most of the time I am peaceful on the inside. Even on bad days when I feel uptight and upset I deal with it. I know alcohol is not a solution. It is so freeing to not have to live that way anymore.
When I was drinking I felt so alone. I still sometimes feel alone (i continue to work on my fears and likely will until the day I die). In recovery I KNOW I am not alone. I have you guys and gals, my 3D peeps in AA, God. I am no longer ruled by my emotions. The bad ones pass as well as the good ones. Nothing is permanent. I survived all my worst days drinking. If I could do that, I can survive any "bad" day sober...sobriety is truly the easier softer way and I am filled with gratitude. Tomorrow, on day 366 I will do the same things I have been doing for the past 365 because it works. Thank to everyone for all your support
