I never thought I'd make it to day 12
Well, its official, this is the longest I've gone sober since '06. The time I came close to this wasn't by choice, either. Up until two years ago, I lived on the Rez in North Dakota, and my house was 17 miles from the nearest store that sold alcohol, so just the logistics of trying to get to the store to get beer kept my drinking somewhat under control. I didn't drive to the store unless I really had to, just the cost of gas made going on a regular basis very unreasonable. My house was about 400 yards from the paved road, and because there wasn't any school aged kids that lived up there (the families with kids that went to school got first priority for plowing for the bus) when it snowed, I would be stuck at the house sometimes for a week or more, so there was that to. I left the Rez, and now I live in Florida, and there's no restrictions like in ND, and that's when I really started drinking to much. But anyways, the longest I've gone sober before today was when I was snowed in and stranded at my house for over a week, until the plows finally came. Two weeks ago, I did not think there was any way I could make it this far. I am so glad I found this place, All of you guys have been a very important part in my making it this far! I log onto this site several times a day and just read other's postings and all the advice, it has been VERY therapeutic!!
Thank you everyone, and thank you web site haha!
