Odd Skin Odor/Sweat Film

Did anyone here have an odd odor and strange/oily film on your skin after heavy drinking for a couple of days, and drinking nothing water and juice for a day after stopping the alcohol. This is after showering in the morning, of course. Just curious. Yeah...I'm a little worried about the liver thing :-/

You sort of have that horrible toxic type smell on skin & breath/pores but nothing oily! just a yucky feeling.

I often felt I was sweating the booze out of my pores, that usually lasted a day, basically part of my hangover, my 'booze sweats'.

If you've quit and it's not happening anymore then it's probably the hangover. No harm in asking your doctor tho!!

It's not a alcohol smell...more like like what Mish described 'horrible toxic type smell on skin & breath/pores'.

It doesn't appear to be noticeable to others, just on skin, nostrils, and mouth!

Yuck!!!

Everyone notices. There have been many threads on this very topic. It only lasts for a few days once sober, but it is especially noticeable to ex-alkies and friends and family members of alkies.

I think diarrhoea was a given the day after a binge ....especially red wine. Another of the totally unglamorous sides of drinking.... You wont see that pic up on any alcohol promoting billboards :-)

Have a great day VOis its posts like yours that i love to read.

It reminds me of how i never want to go back to that place ever xx

Posts like these are what keep me sober. The first few months were absolute hel* and I don't want to go back there ever again. You will feel better, you just have to ride it out. I never thought that I would get past the first few weeks and months. But now I have almost 7 months and can finally enjoy sobriety.

i had puffy face(water retention) and molten lava ..spicy diarreah with a lingering aftertaste. I drew blood on several occasions. Heartburn that was so intense it made me vomit or dry heave on a few occasions. If i drank a cop of coffee id sweat like pig

Thanks Cabo - it appears that I picked the right time to quit...obviously it can get much worse than just smellin' funny! "Moltem Lava" :-)

Gotta go to a meeting...I'll check in later!

Diarreah and aftertaste in the same sentence. Ouch!
