day 3

Day 3 of not drinking and awful shaky still, My wife is quitting too but she isn't having the bad withdrawals. Slept a little last night and hope tonight's better, the lack of sleep for a couple days about did me in. Well wish me strength.

Well done on a great start. Things will get easier and better in time. Try to have patience in the first couple of weeks until your body is getting accustomed to no alcohol. You have done the right thing and welcome along.good luck

I'm finding all sorts of weird stuff happening, zepp. I actually think the first day was better than the second (which is today). Hoping for the best for you….

Ya withdrawals do weird stuff to your brain, good luck to you. I appreciate everyone's support. I know I'll feel better tomorrow, just need to get some sleep. Drinking lots of water, eating fruit and taking vitamins, all the stuff that's supposed to help detox. I get so depressed knowing I did this to myself again. Alcohol just isn't worth this misery.

Hang in there! It will get better! It's great that your wife is getting sober as well! I suggest getting to some A.A. meetings and reading the Big Book when you are ready! You can do it!

Withdrawal is not fun but it will get easier. Just stay sober and things will get better.

Welcome Zeppodog. For me the 1st week was the worst of it. Day 11 for me and I can honestly say I have no more withdrawal symptoms. Take care and take one day at a time.

Every consecutive day was easier. I turned the corner from miserable to feeling good at about 4 days. Just hang in there.

My wife's making oven fried chicken for dinner, one of my favorites so hope I can eat a good meal and sleep. Picking up some herbal supplements that are supposed to help tomorrow. Maybe going cold turkey was a bad idea but I've tried to taper off before and that didn't work. I made it this far so hope I'm through the worst of it. Thanks everyone

Hi zeppo! I just posted on your page asking if your avatar was a mastiff. So now I know the answer. My English was a puppy when I decided to quit - she deserved better than the drunk and foggy me. Glad to have you with us!
