I was at lunch today with a few coworkers and one of them asked me if I wanted to go with her to an amateur brewer event at a local brewery on Saturday. I said no thank you and she asked why. I simply said I decided to give up drinking because it was becoming too much a part of my life. Her response reminded me why I decided to quit.

"So you don't drink... what do you do for fun?"

I don't give people a reason because I don't want to deal with stupid comments like that. We all know that it's hard for others to understand alcoholism, but still...
