Three Weeks Today

Today is the three week mark. Feeling much better. Filling my drinking time with exercise and rest. I'm really trying to listen to myself. As I've said before one of my largest triggers is being hungry, so I'm eating often and that is a big help. I will also say I'm proud of myself given that I have had to travel on business during each week I have been sober. It has been a double-edged sword. On the one hand it is somewhat easier not to drink because I have a lot of time to work out and just be calm. On the other hand, I have a lot of free time and I used to DRINK like crazy while on the road. At any rate, I'm moving along nicely just taking one day at a time.

Hi Ethos, congratulations on 3 weeks. It gets easier. It takes time to learn new behaviors. Begin new hobbies or go back to some you used to do before the drinking. I suggest going to an arts n crafts store or a hobby shop. I like croqeting, reading, crossword puzzles, cake decorating, just to name a few. Maybe walk around the shops and see what interests you. Great job!

Hi Ethos. Congratulations on making it to 3 weeks. Hunger is a big trigger for me as well since I know that I catch a better alcohol buzz when I drink on an empty stomach. Oddly, while I have been eating more often to counter the urge to drink, I haven't gained weight. I think it is because I would binge eat once I got drunk.

Anyway, congratulations on your 3 weeks. That is huge.

Great effort on 3 weeks. As everyone will say it will get easier and even better as time goes by. All the best.
