Hi Lind (back). What is it that you're scared of?

Hi, Lind. Welcome to SR. I am a mom, too. There are a lot of moms on this forum, so you are not alone. Being a good mom and a good future grandmother, is my biggest motivator for sobriety!

I was scared to quit drinking, too. But the horrors alcohol wrought on me scared me more.
I think it's important to quit for yourself, although quitting for your family is noble, it's you that counts.
AA works for many. Have you thought about attending a meeting?
You'll find lots of support here, too.

Best to you in quitting.

We alcoholics nearly all have the same feelings, being scared is common.

Don't be! We place far too much importance on alcohol, we simply don't need it !

In the two months I've been off it my life has seen huge improvements. Stay strong and stick around, you can do it!

Welcome!

And, it's normal to be scared of stopping drinking and all that it involves. I know you will find lots of support here.

Hey Lind.

When I first got sober, I was too frightened to continue drinking, so I had a different ride than some other people. I tossed away a great life and some very good people when I drank again after twenty five years. Now, back little more than two years following a three-year relapse, I'm living the dream again. A dream that's available to everyone.
