Physical changes
I have been battling addiction for 15 years and finally have a clean 27 days again after a 2 1/2-year binge that nearly killed me.
I am having some weird physical stuff going on that I'm curious if others have experienced.
I am having bad acne breakouts all over my back, chest and shoulders.
I have some weird peeling and cracking on my feet and hands.
I have receding, bleeding and painful gums.
Digestive system and bowel movements have all gone crazy.
Chronic acid reflux is gone!!!
Has anyone else noticed any weird physical changes in early detox....early sobriety?
I'm a 38-year-old male.....thanks

Have you seen a Dr blessedmess?
some of that stuff is normal - the acne and the digestion - and, at least in my experience, will normally settle down in week or two if not sooner....
but the gums will mostly likely need professional inspection - probably the peeling and cracking too?

Hi. Day 24 for me and you've just explained why the soles of my feet were peeling in the bath. Thanks I haven't had much in the way of acne, a few spots just, but the rest is the same (toothache rather than gum bleeding) - loads better than a hangover though huh?

PS Forgot to say, the toothache was a result of bumping that particular tooth a while back and the nerve starting to die, so a little different from your situation. Prob best to get checked out, like Dee says
