Trying Again.
Trying Again.
First off I want to say Thank You to all posters here on SR. I have spent the past 4 days as a lurker as I once again go through this. Reading all the posts, for literally 4 full days, has gotten me through the worst of the withdrawal.
My attempt at sobriety has been ongoing for over a year now. I quit drinking in Oct. 2012, was able to abstain for 3 months and picked up again thinking I could control it. Which brings me to today, my 4th day on the wagon.

Welcome Vigilance. SR has been my main support through withdrawals and sobriety for a while now. You are not alone in your battles, glad you are here posting now and getting better with us.

Glad you joined us. With four days sober you should be over the worst of the w/d. But treat yourself well: good food and rest and moderate exercise if you can. I used to walk my dogs when I had a craving to drink. It took my mind off it and made me feel better afterward.
Hi Vigilance, I am on day 5. Welcome back. 3 months sober was an amazing accomplishment that you know you can do again, and this time just keep going. This could actually be a great learning experience for you the next time you get so far into recovery and you have that thought about drinking again. You can tell yourself "been there, done that...no thanks."
Glad to see you Vigilance! Being here helped calm my anxiety in the early days - and I never left. The support here is amazing - and you're among those who really understand what you're experiencing.
Congrats on your 4 days. We know how hard it is - but it will get better - and you never have to go back there again.
