Hi Kylie - I'm so sorry to hear about the loss of your child eleven years ago. That is incredibly heartbreaking. I hope you find a way out of this addiction soon. We all know how hard it is, and we're here for you. I'm on day three of my renewed attempt to quit. 4:51AM and still not asleep... But trying to win this battle and wishing you the same strength. Hang in there.
Kylie, this is a great place to begin to get help with your drink issues, and once you are on your road to recovery, you can start to deal with the emotional upheaval of your traumatic loss. I wish you all the best. X

Hi and welcome Kylie. Drinking is obviously a very serious problem for many of us. This site, AA and other groups are places where people who understand us are very helpful, IF we let them. Some of us need a detox and or a rehab, no shame. We all need to adjust to the fact that we CANNOT drink in safety so we don't have the first drink. It's simple but not always easy in the beginning, but what long term habit is easy to shake?

Hi Kylie--a mom here, too!
Sounds like you've had to deal with many difficult things over the past 11 years, especially the loss of your son--I'm so sorry for that. Hopefully, this will be the beginning of a whole new, happier life for you and your children. You're going to find a ton of support here.
