Welcome doors, 76 days, awesome!!! The title of your post suggests that you've previously made attempts at sobriety. If so, what made it stick for you this time? Have you been following a plan? Please do tell ...as a struggler, I'm constantly searching for inspiration

a lot of things made it stick this time! I really missed the former days where I was alcohol and smoke free and how great I felt waking up and bouncing out of bed without a hangover. I also want to be my best for my wife and my children. I wasn't looking forward to any kind of withdrawals seeing that I have low blood sugar also called hypoglycemia. I also have a great love for God and ask myself what the heck am i doing drinking everyday. My advice to anyone out there that wants to stop drinking is if you can get past the two and a half to 3 month mark it gets much easier.I also think it has a lot to do with how much you drank. I do not want to sound cliche but it really is true it gets easier and you can quit and change your life around please if you're considering it do it. Some people drink for different reasons, it may be harder for other people to stop drinking based on their past but no matter what the reason is always available to quit. PS I always stayed away from people that were drinking.

Thank you doors for your reply.

Reading this, this morning I have come to a decision.

I am beginning to realise that I need more help with this.

I must start walking the walk.

So, thank you again. I'm going to call a doctor.

Welcome doors27! I think you and I share the same sober birthday. Also, jdooner, peaches58, ornithology too, I think. And I am sure several others out there. Anyway, welcome. And congratulations. I am glad you are here with us.
