Day One
Day one on the road to recovery. So far so good. Though, I have to be to work at 6:30am, I'm usually good about not drinking heavily when I have to be up so early. Not really even a craving. Even sitting with my parents for the past few hours, who are pounding them down, as usual.
No triggers either, though. Usually when I close the store I swing by the 7-11 for a few tall boys before I go to bed, while I have the house to myself. It's compulsive. I leave the store thinking "nah, not tonight", but I still end up getting the booze.
Not any more. One day at a time.

Hi sickscorpion
I'm glad you resisted the temptation. You're right - it is a compulsion. In the end, half the time I knew it wasn't going to do a thing for me. Out of habit - & fear of facing reality - I went ahead & got numb. Such a sad & pathetic waste of time. You're off to a great start!
