Day One
Hello everyone. I am new to this site and today is day one for me to not drink. I use wine to get me to sleep at night, and want to replace it with something positive. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you!

Bd63, day 1? You are FANTASTIC. Congratulations. It has taken me quite something for the problems caused by addiction to go away, but they have. More than anything else I just suffered through the cravings, anxiety, sleeplessness, whatever. At 3 years 3 months sober, I'm finding that "time" is the great healer. Rootin for ya.
Hi bd - welcome
here are some common sense suggestion that may help:
10 tips to beat insomnia - Live Well - NHS Choices
I found that after a few rough nights I found a natural sleeping rhythm and didn't need anything to help me sleep.
If you're concerned tho, it's always best to run your concerns past your Dr - anything you may read about here that has apparently worked for someone else may not work, or even be suitable for you - especially if you are on other medications.
Hope you get some rest soon

Welcome. When you wake up in the morning with no wine haze ... you'll feel a strong reason not to drink. That wonderful feeling in the morning with no hangover.
Thank you for posting and be well.
