I thought it would be good to talk with people here then just sit at home and struggle through the day.

Take it an hour at a time or a minute at a time if you have to. May I ask is the depression new or did you struggle with that while drinking?

SR is an integral part of my recovery along with AA, Alanon, and nicotine cessation.

The support here is tremendous, and it helps me to reach out to other people F2F.

My fiance' is gone. I had to ask her to leave because she wouldn't stop drinking. I would come home every day from work and she would be passed out in the back yard; every day... I'm very, very sad she's not here; we were supposed to get married in February. I feel like I lost my best friend.

I went to the hospital 3 weeks ago with a swollen pancreas. They said it was due to drinking and if I didn't stop I would die. She came and visited me one day. My son told me she was drunk, at home, every day and couldn't even drive to come visit me. Sad...

I'm not depressed or sad about not drinking. I've made up my mind, I'm not drinking today; one day at a time.

Welcome and congratulations! I'm sorry to hear about losing your fiance...alcohol makes people do crazy things.
