Came to believe....
I wanted to start a thread filled with those solid one liners/thoughts that each of you turn to for strength when you need it. The most obvious to me is "Came to believe a power greater than myself could restore me to sanity"...but there are others I turn to when I start to feel uncomfortable. I hope this will provide the newcomers with some good mantras, as well as provide the rest of us with some we may not have heard previously or that may mean something different now we are further "into" our recovery...
So...with all that said....
Talk to us!!!

Turn fear into faith.
What other people think of me is none of my business.
To thine own self be true.
QTIP (Quit Taking It Personally)
One day at a time
God, Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference.

FEAR: F...Everything And Run or Face Everything And Recover.
You can carry the message but you can't carry the drunk.
KE mentioned it and that one was very important for me (took me a while to understand it too then it was like holding a gem):

Oh sorry!!!! wrong quote....this is what I meant to say:
"Accept what is, let go of what was and have faith in what will be".

I do love threads like this......it helps to be reminded of all of the little tools we have at our disposal. Thanks for starting it!

Cry know because you lost him or cry later because you still have him.
Recovery is when you change from a woman who loves someone else so much it hurts into a woman who loves herself enough to stop the pain.
