first time posting ...not first day one

Hi everyone. I've been reading posts for quite some time and it has helped me tremendously to get through a lot of anxiety . I'm an alcoholic and need help. It does help to know that others have gone or are going through similar situations. I have lots of things to be grateful for and so today is the beginning of no more drinking for me. I am ready but I need support. Thanks for reading

Together we can do it. I wish you well. Do you have a program?

Welcome to SR, breathingToday. I am glad you are here with us. I had my last drink 64 days ago, on the same day that I joined SR. The good people here have given me an amazing amount of support and good advice along the way. Good luck. I hope you will post often.

to SR. I agree with you, today is a GREAT day to quit
Why don't you join us at the 24 hours club where we commit not to drink or drug for the next 24 hours? Sometimes the prospect of never drinking again can seem enormous, especially early on but we can do it 24 hours at a time

Thank you for the kind words. I don't have a program, but I do have faith that I can do this...I have to or I won't be around too much longer. I have everything to live for...amazing children , wonderful man, great job. I was thinking looking into avrt? I've tried AA and I'm up for anything at this point.

its a very supportive community here, I joined a few months ago , I saw mention of AVRT and googled it, took the free online crash course and then bought more of their material, I found it tremendously helpful.

wish you well and hope to see you around check in , read all around the forums here, post, ask
