Small Steps this Week
One of my earliest posts upon returning to SR after a year talked about making a plan to be self sustaining because I have been so dependent financially on my AH as a home educating mother of 4 sons and housewife.
When we married 22 years ago, I didn't finish college; I was such a youngster marrying at 20. So, part of my plan was to go back to school and I made my first steps toward that goal today by filling out an application to my local community college. My hope is to follow that up tomorrow by physically going to that school and researching workforce opportunities to further my plans for a future diploma. I'm nervous but excited at the thought of some independence and doing something for myself... its been sooo long since I've done that! Even if AH gets sober and stays sober, I don't want to be so totally dependent on anyone anymore.

I think you have taken a wonderful step for yourself here!! I often have regrets about being stuck in my job & haven't put myself out there to make any real changes yet. I really admire you for taking such a definite plan of action!!
