30 Days thank you, SR!
30 Days thank you, SR!
I came to SR looking up information about my mother's drinking problem. I wasn't really considering my problem - at least not consciously. You good, good people at SR called my bluff and made me look at my own issues squarely, and for that, I will be forever grateful. I haven't had this much time sober in almost 10 years. I hope to stay sober and never look back! Thank you, thank you!!!
I have been able to stay sober for these last 30 days by obsessively keeping on-line as much as possible on the SR forums (btw, you are the only sober people in my life besides my children), by praying to God about it daily and by reading obsessively all sorts of books, websites and literature discussing alcoholism. This may not work for everyone, but for me it has been just right!
Thank you all so much from the bottom of my heart!!!

You are doing so well and it is obvious that you are putting the effort in. You deserve the rewards of this effort. I also read on here daily and post if I can think of anything to say!! Coming on here continues to focus my mind which in the past has been a problem for me. My thanks also go to SR and everyone here.
Congratulations DD! I am so happy for you! And I am so grateful that you are a member of the community here. Right from the outset you have opened up some amazing discussions, I always love your threads! YAY YOU!!!
Congrats on 30 this is big milestone - you and I started off similarly. I quit drinking to try and inspire my wife, as I always looked at her and rationalized my own drinking through her. Anyhow, first week, I detoxed and had signs of physical withdrawal, so I started thinking maybe my problem is a bit worse. Turns out I had no idea how bad I was and in hindsight prob did not have many more years left at my pace.
SR has been a big help and I am glad you are getting your life back through sobriety. Congrats!
