I've seriously had enough.

I've seriously come to realize that I cant do this anymore. I have been going off the rails these past two weeks and when I think about how many cans ive drank it makes me feel sick. Today is Friday and is my day 1.

I hope so for your sake. Coming here to declare your intent is great, I support that. But is telling us you've quit enough? A couple post ago you were asked if you had a recovery plan. You replied,

"Not made any specific plan's. I just intend to focus more on my family life and focus on what I have that's good rather on negatives."

You need more. That's what you have to seriously come to realize. That your way isn't working. You want to get sober. I get that. But a goal without a plan is just a wish.

You can't wish yourself sober.

Good luck.

I will be making plans to fill my drinking time up with other activities. I think that im an excessive drinker now and I need more and more to get drunk. Like 16 cans. Its disgusting. I have to stop. Its a real big thing when you realise that infact..This is enough now. I know have said this before but I simply cannot have this life anymore. It stops today.

It is a refreshing feeling when you just snapp into action and an overwhelming experience of the thought of a healthy future. Although im sleep deprived and very hungover, usually by now I would of had at least 5 drinks but instead im writing this. Crazy huh! I hate alcohol. My wallet does too. lol

If we always do what we always did, we will always get, what we always got.

The mistake I made time and time again was to rely on myself. I found that I had to have outside support. in my case it was a combination of professional help, AVRT, and AA. I had to have outside thinking because my thinking got me to the same spot every single time.

Coming up with other activities is a piece of the puzzle but it is only one piece of a much larger plan. My plan included things that addressed the psychological and physiological and the social aspects of alcoholism. Until I had a plan that addressed all of these things I was destined to fail.

For me will power was very important but it was never enough.

A wise choice. You can do it. There are many too that actually remain sober without much of a program, although I've found that especially in the beginning focusing on recovery and taking it easy has been of paramount value. My first sober day was friday as well. Strange timing.

I am on day 11 and remember vividly Day 1....ugh! I NEVER want to do that again. Hungover, followed by 5 days of detox at home. Couldn't get off the couch...BUT...I made it! You can too! Hang in there and just don't drink....no matter what.
